Davina David: Public transportation is not at the level that it is in Chicago, your best bet is to get a rental car, or if you already have a car, drive from Chicago to Detroit, its not too far. The Detroit Public Transporation system is not the safest in the world either. But then again, you are in Michigan, and you are coming to Detroit, and this is where the Brain work for creating a car happened, and when I say by car, by car is th! e only way to travel.

Elissa Curlin: Get a car. Better yet, get an SUV with stiff springs and shocks. A lot of the city streets are just hard cow paths. Public transportation in Detroit has, shall we say, plenty of room for improvement.
