can i make home theater with a projector with 2000 lumens ?

Angelyn Ducas: Will it work? - YesIs 2000 ANSI Lumens enough? - That depends on the screen size and how much light there is in the room, but 2000 ANSI is pretty bright as far as home theatre is concernedIs it particularly suited to home cinema use? - No. It's a business projector from 2006~2007. But that doesn't mean you can't have some fun with it. A typical games room/home theater projector has a 16:9 widescreen HD resolution - either 1280x720 (720p) or 1920x1080 (1080p) - and it will have a digital input on DVI or HDMI for a Blu-ray player or games console or other HD sources. Also, DLPs for home use have high speed colour wheels - 5x or 6x - which reduces colour flashing (rainbow effect) when watching dark scenes in movies. Your Dell was designed for business presentations. It is geared towards portability rather than video performance. The 4:3 format suited the laptops of the day. It'll do video and it has a 16:9 mode, but business presentations is its forte rather ! than dedicated movie viewing. Having said that, there's plenty of general games- and entertainment-rooms where small and bright business projectors are used. If the lack of a digital input isn't too much of an issue then go for it. If you're serious about home theatre then a dedicated projector should be your next upgrade. It's possible to spend several thousands on a projector, but for a budget solution start by having a look at the Benq W1070 and Optoma HD131....Show more

Corey Rohleder: yes that would be fine....plus u will be watching it in the dark too i would hope so 2000 Lumens would be plenty...i think my projector is only like 1200 or 1400 and i watch it outside at night and its plenty bright for me to see
