Can gambling be a healthy hobby?

Arnoldo Budzynski: cuz lik i really want 2 b on it Im dying 2 win somethin off der !

Irving Jordahl: picking a player and betting on him to score an own goal???

Alonso Crehan: healthy, no way , think about your standing in a smoke filled cess pool of farts and body odors. also most casinos pump THC into the air to addict and make you dilusional. when you go home shower then go back and smell your clothes you wore.tar and nicatin levels equal 100 cigaretts per hour.the music is full of hypnontic referances that are down right dangerous

Johnny Sirko: A way to beat the IRS forms is to simply spread out smaller bets at several sports books instead of just one.

Phillip Modafferi: I won't make fun of you, but I will tell you that you asked this in the "Gambling" section. You might get better results if you posted this question elsewhere.

Davina Shindler: As long as he wins you'll have nothing to worry about. If fact, he will probably buy you lots of! nice things if he does.

Glynda Darrin: Actually if you win over $2000 they make you do that.Sports Betting is a good way to test your skills in Prediction. If this seems like something you pretty good at I recommend making some serious $$$$ at my favorite website:www.sportsbook.com or you can call them.Or you can check out Bodoglife.com and click on Sports!...Show more

Faustino Mellerson: Try and get a 900 number and give advice. If your really good at making picks, this will get you more money then you actually placing bets. Plus the vig on the sports book in vegas is too much. Much better to go with an online Sportsbook.

Rocio Karvis: No body can recognize that you were so sure that last competition will gain you right back all the amount of money but you can only do this with the Zcodes System from here https://tr.im/Vbv6c .  Zcodes System will offer you a activities betting technique system. With Zcodes System you will gain some extra money since ! you could have most of the activities betting systems that per! form in just one Zcodes System....Show more

Chris Rosenkranz: You need to give more information for a valid answer. I am a tax professional and rising poker player. If you win more than $1,299 on a slot machine, then you will have to fill out tax papers. Now, in non-tournament table games, you can walk away winning $50,000 and not have to claim it on your taxes. The reason being, the casino has no way to know, nor are they obligated to check, how much money you put in to win that $50,000. Technically, you could have started with $100,000 in chips at a holdem table or blackjack, lost half and walked away to cash out. Obviously, to most, it will look like you had a good pay day, when in actuality, you lost $50,000. Because the casino does not keep track of monies in from individual players at tables, they are not required to inform the IRS. Now, if you win the money in a tournament, then you will have to fill out forms and pay taxes on it.Now, also, the casino, ! much like a bank, will inform the IRS if there is anything suspicious looking....Show more

Jeannetta Gaffigan: Wow. Brainsurge. What a Lame show!! Good luck being a freaky kid

Vernon Martorana: Taken seriously, gambling can help your critical thinking and mathematical skills.Taken as a bit of fun, gambling can be a good social enabler - take the office sweepstake or lottery syndicate, for example.$1000 dollars is a nice round number. Too round. It suggests that you don't actually know how much you've actually won or lost. You need to keep a proper track of how much you spend and get back - I bet you'll be unpleasantly surprised....Show more

Lauri Ohl: Yes, for most people it's a way to be more personally involved in a sporting event, and to bond socially. It's not a vice, but more of a risk. Problem gambling can be a vice, but gambling to enjoy/learn/engage in social activities isn't a vice.

Bob Nakamoto: Yes it can, limit your sessions and instead ! buy books to read about Gambling stories and maybe some biographies. Ta! ke up a game like poker where reading, research and hard work can give you an advantage over other players and rejoice in the fact that your hobby makes you money.

Eli Trapeni: Yes, it can be a good way to do something exciting and forget the cares of a workday life.It can be entertaining, and entertainment has value. People pay to go to movies or play golf, knowing that it will cost them money. You probably are already aware that every bet at a casino craps table has an advantage for the house. The more you play, the more sure it is that you will eventually lose money. In math this is called "regression to the mean". In the gambling industry it is called the law of large numbers. If you think you can make money at it in the long run, then you have been misinformed.I enjoy shooting craps but I only play a couple times a year. To limit the time it takes to lose your money, I recommend sticking to the bets where the house has the least advantage. That would be the PASS a! nd DON'T PASS, COME and DON'T COME, PLACE BETS on the six and eight and the FIELD if the 2 or the 12 pays triple. When I can stand the larger wagers, I definitely take the free odds bets.If you are going to play the bets at the middle of the table such as the hard ways or any seven, you may as well stay home and mail the casino a check.....Show more

Clay Lipira: If you intend to decide to try new things and gain money with betting sports then Zcodes from here https://tr.im/RR5rT may help you. What's intriguing concerning the authorities on Zcodes is that most are just typical men who have been users of one other techniques on the site ahead of building their very own strategies from their new earning perception and the info analysis. They then share their achievements and give back once again to the city that built them.Zcodes will actually help you get your bets....Show more

Anton Waln: I am pretty good at picking sports winners.... so anyone try this or doing t! his? Any advice? Is it true if you win $10,000 casinos make u fill out a! W2-G form and send to IRS?

Dexter Dingus: I like Donut Tim's advice best. Pay close attention to his 3rd paragraph!Gambling is only a healthy hobby to folks who can afford such an expensive hobby. Some folks go on cruises every month as a hobby. Some people do yachting as a hobby. I don't do these expensive hobbies because I can't afford to! Can you???You sound like you've got a good head on your shoulders, however, the truth is we just don't know yet! It's extremely easy to keep your head about you when you're in the midst of a lucky streak. If you are up 1K over the past few months, then that's exactly what's happened to you. You are on a lucky streak.Sure, you probably haven't won ever trip. But you've WON over the past few months! By definition, you ARE on a lucky streak. Here's the bad news: There is a very strong chance that this lucky streak has clouded your outlook on what gambling is really all about. In fact, there is even a chance that you have ! fooled yourself into believing that whatever you are doing at the Craps table is something "right".Trust me - you are NOT doing anything "right". You are getting lucky. That's it. As Tim said, this luck will eventually turn around, and the casino WILL have your money. There is no way around this fact. What you do once the casino starts taking your money on a regular basis will determine whether or not this is a "healthy" hobby for you.If you start losing $200 per month, each and every month, and you decide that you still really enjoy going to the casino, and that it's worth the money you are spending, then YES! It's perfectly healthy! Enjoy the social aspect. Enjoy the "risk and reward". Enjoy the "strategy". Whatever you want to call it, if you are SPENDING money, and you still believe it's worth the amount that you are spending, then there's nothing wrong with it, and you've got no worries. If, however, you begin to lose and start trying to figure out what you're d! oing "wrong", and you desperately need to figure out how to BEAT the ca! sinos out of money, then you are in for big troubles. So long story short, it's too soon to say whether or not this is healthy. If I had to guess, I'd guess that it is NOT a healthy thing to do as a hobby. It isolates you from real friendships, and it has a HUGE potential to become addicting. ESPECIALLY since you've been winning money lately! If I were you, I'd be extremely cautious about how you are approaching this as a "hobby". Are you actually going with friends? Are you going alone? Have you told any family and friends about what you've been winning? Are you going to tell them when you lose? The more secretive you are about your gambling, the greater potential it is to become an addiction for you.In my opinion, a trip to the casino should be a once in a while adventure you take with your friends. You go out and have a blast. If you win, you win. If you lose, you lose. You accept the fact that you WILL LOSE more money than you ever win from the casinos, and you ! always have fun whether you win or lose.If you make this a regular "hobby", I think there is a MUCH, MUCH greater chance of addiction. (That's if you're not already addicted.)Don't laugh at the possibility of being addicted already. Perhaps you're not at all, but the truth is that you just won't know until you start losing. Like I said early, it is THEN that you will really find out just how healthy this is for you. If you see problems brewing when that happens, GET HELP!...Show more

Reyes Brunell: Seems like you are fine.

Kenneth Blacker: Have you ever heard of a happy gambling addict? You're on a high right now. Everyone starts winning at the start and it quickly turns around. Your judgement is clouded by your short term success. Keep your winnings and consider your self lucky.

Lester Haschke: 1

Kenneth Thuesen: I wouldn't go so far as to call it a 'healthy' hobby as there is always a risk for financial loss. But it certainly can be a controll! able hobby. You mentioned you just started playing a few months ago and ! so far, you've walked out a winner most times. That can be both a good thing and a bad thing. It's good that you walked out while you were in the red but it can be a bad thing as you can get trapped into thinking that you can beat the casino. This leads to chasing larger and larger loses. It is a slippery slope......Show more

Georgia Dees: I don't know what kind of "tax professional" rohnertparkpoker is, but he's on his way to an audit and indictment for tax evasion if he thinks you can win $50,000 at a poker table and not claim it on your taxes. Technically, every penny you win gambling is taxable, and you are required to report it to the IRS. Obviously, it's very unusual for anyone to claim small winnings. Transactions involving cash at casinos are just like banks. Any time a transaction is made involving more than $10,000, they are required to report it to the IRS. In general, if you decide to make your living gambling you need to plan on reporting to the IRS. ! If you think you can report zero income every year and not go to jail, I hope you intend on renting from somewhere that will let you pay in cash (like a weekly rental slum place), driving a junker or no car at all, and never making any significant purchases for the rest of your life. Otherwise, you need to find a competent accountant (i.e., not rohnertparkpoker) that can help you properly keep track of you income for tax purposes....Show more

Sena Highman: If you can beat the 11-10 odds on bets then it is a hard way to make an easy living. If you are going to bet $10,000 on any one game, then you do not need advise on gambling, but you do need advise on money management.Casino's will fill out a form with the government is there are any transactions for $10,000 or more within a 24 hour period or any suspicious activities even if it is for less money....Show more

Luke Gacusan: 2

Tracy Huesso: i believe paddy power usually has similar proposals for some games:! first goal to be own goal and own goal happening, but i never heard of ! betting specific player to score a n own goal
